THIS IS 40 is the sort-of sequel to KNOCKED UP (2007) in that it follows two of the supporting characters from that film. Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann return to deal with family life as they reach 40 years of age, other than that there seems to be no discernible plot to speak of. The trailer has a lengthy running time of nearly three minutes and demonstrates the usual Judd Apatow style comedy we have come to expect. There are some nice additions to the cast including Chris O’Dowd, John Lithgow, Albert Brooks, and Melissa McCarthy.
Overall there are some nice one liners and some funny scenarios and I’m yet to be disappointed by an Apatow directed comedy. However, I did find the trailer to be a bit forceful in its ‘Every-man’ approach, especially when they live in such a huge house. But who can argue with a shot of Megan Fox in her underwear? See what you think.
THIS IS 40 will be released 14th February 2013. It stars Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, John Lithgow, Albert Brooks, Chris O’Dowd, Jason Segel, Megan Fox, and Melissa McCarthy
