German director Dennis Gansel will soon première his vampire shocker WE ARE THE NIGHT at this year’s Film4 FrightFest. The horror film must have impressed those at Universal Pictures because they’re currently in talks with the filmmaker to helm their unsettling chiller GRIM NIGHT. The plot will see the planet’s population lock themselves away one day, every year and try to survive battling creatures known as ‘Grims’. Brandon Bestenheider and Allen Bey have written the script.
An interesting premise made all the more intriguing with the aid of this intensely creepy short that sets up the nail-biting horror awaiting those unable to escape the wrath of the silent supernatural beasties. ‘Be prepared, not scared’ We can’t wait!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
