When your resume includes BLUE IN THE FACE and MAID IN MANHATTAN, I’m sorry but your newest film will not excite me. However Wayne Wang I am a professional (of sorts) and I shall report your news with gusto.
Jim Yardley’s book BRAVE DRAGONS is set for the big screen, helmed by maestro Wayne Wang. Bob Weiss, NBA coaching legend, is the centre of the story as he and his wife embark on a mission to make a Chinese basketball team great, whilst coming to terms with the culture differences, and Boss Wang the owner of the team. It will be interesting to see how Wang handles this story, he does have previous looking at China and how globalisation is affecting the country, Basketball will make a suitably sexy backdrop for that.
What do you think? Can you muster more enthusiasm than me for this film? Go on then, get it in writing below.

Sam is a bloody lovely lad born and raised in Bristol (he’s still there and can’t escape). Favourite films include THE LOST BOYS, DRIVE, FIGHT CLUB and COMMANDO, well pretty much any 1980s Arnie film you can throw his way…even RED SONJA. Sam once cancelled a Total Film subscription after they slagged off Teen Wolf. He resubscribed 2 days later.
