Kevin Costner is an actor I always feel we should see more of. Hell, I’d have him in every film if I had the choice – but it turns out we could be seeing a bit more of him over the next few years. Set for the pivotal role of Superman’s Earth pop Jonathan Kent in the forthcoming MAN OF STEEL, it was devastating to see him have to pull out of a role in Tarantino’s ‘Southern’ DJANGO UNCHAINED.
However, he is currently in negotiations to feature in Kenneth Branagh’s JACK RYAN reboot, as well as the Luc Besson-produced actioner THREE DAYS TO KILL. The Tom Clancy-created character of JACK RYAN will be played by Chris Pine this time around, with Costner expected to take the role of his mentor and commanding officer. THREE DAYS TO KILL could see him as a government assassin with a terminal illness, hoping he has enough time left to complete one last important job. It could reinvent Costner as a midde-aged ass-kicking action hero, with the film being compared to the Liam Neeson fight-fest TAKEN.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
