Despite a lack of laughs, Sacha Baron Cohen’s THE DICTATOR performed well at the box office, so Paramount have seen fit to pick up a James Bond spoof he and Phil Johnston (CEDAR RAPIDS) are writing based on an agent in hiding with his ‘moronic soccer hooligan brother’.
Some feel the spy spoof peaked with Val Kilmer starring TOP SECRET! and they’d be correct. This market has been saturated with utter tripe in the last two decades: JOHNNY ENGLISH and GET SMART two of the worst offenders. I’m off for a lie down…

Sam is a bloody lovely lad born and raised in Bristol (he’s still there and can’t escape). Favourite films include THE LOST BOYS, DRIVE, FIGHT CLUB and COMMANDO, well pretty much any 1980s Arnie film you can throw his way…even RED SONJA. Sam once cancelled a Total Film subscription after they slagged off Teen Wolf. He resubscribed 2 days later.
