The first teaser trailer for ZERO DARK THIRTY, Katheryn Bigelow’s follow up to the Academy Award winning THE HURT LOCKER (2008). The film focuses on the US Navy Seals and the operation to track and kill Osama Bin Laden. The trailer doesn’t give us much information, which is probably for the best. Let’s face it, we all know how it ends so it’s best to keep the journey a secret. It seems as though Bigelow is sticking with the military theme she started in K-19: THE WIDOWMAKER (2002). Personally, I kind of miss the days of STRANGE DAYS (1995) , POINT BREAK (1991) and NEAR DARK (1987). I hope she isn’t trying to merely replicate Oscar glory.
ZERO DARK THIRTY will hit cinemas in the US 19th December 2012. It stars Jessica Chastain, Mark String, Joel Edgerton, Kyle Chandler, Edgar Ramirez, and Harold Perrineau.
