Natalie Dormer To Join Ensemble Cast For The Counselor?

Natalie Dormer, who plays Margaery Tyrell in the magnificent HBO television series, GAME OF THRONES, has begun negotiations to join an – already impressive – line-up for the upcoming Ridley Scott film, THE COUNSELOR. Take a deep breath… Michael ‘The Facilitator’ Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, and John Leguizamo, are just a few of the recognisable faces to be confirmed so far. The project also boasts a talented supporting cast, which Dormer would form a part of, including Dean Norris (BREAKING BAD) and Rosie Perez (PINEAPPLE EXPRESS).

Cormac McCarthy, whose novel’s THE ROAD and NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN have already been successfully adapted for the screen, wrote his first original screenplay for THE COUNSELOR. It is a thriller that follows a hardworking attorney (Fassbender), who is faced with a great moral decision when he becomes strapped for cash. He starts a drug trafficking racket with his rich associate (Bardem), and an unpredictable third party (Pitt), which quickly creates many problems, causing his life to start unravelling before him.

THE COUNSELOR is due for release in the US 2013. Watch this space for UK release information.
