Only a few days ago, THN give you the first look at Michael Shannon as loving family man Richard Kuklinski, who hid the dark secret he was in fact a mob assassin nicknamed THE ICEMAN for decades before his incarceration. Like most, I love a good old fashioned gangster flick, whether starring the likes of Gagney, Pacino or DeNiro, however I find ones based on true events are often more fascinating, so I’m certainly looking forward to see the always intense Shannon in this effort.
Ariel Vroman directs a great cast based on the novel by Anthony Bruno. THN has even more stills, giving our first look at Liotta’s mob boss, Evans’ as Kuklinski’s mentor Robert Pronge and Ryder’s clueless wife Deborah. The crime-thriller is expected early next year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
