Here we have our first look at Brad Pitt’s character ‘Westray’ in Ridley Scott’s crime-thriller THE COUNSELOR, with the actor and director working together for the first time in 21 years. Legendary novelist Cormac McCarthy has written his first screenplay since 1976’s THE GARDENER’S SON, one that will see Michael Fassbender as a top lawyer dragged into a major drug deal with Javier Bardem’s ‘Reiner’.
Pitt appears as though he’s never changed from the free-spirited character J.D., who bedded stunner Geena Davis in Scott’s hit crime-caper THELMA & LOUISE, even sporting a similar cowboy hat. THE COUNSELOR has an ace supporting cast that includes Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz and BREAKING BAD’s Dean Norris. Shooting is currently under way with the thriller expected late next year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
