Brad Pitt in KILLING THEM SOFTLY has been subtly under the radar as the likes of DJANGO UNCHAINED and THE MASTER steal the intrigue limelight but now we have further insight into the world under creation by director and writer Andrew Dominik. The filmmaker hasn’t exactly been prolific but his previous two works CHOPPER and THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD have certainly made audiences and critics alike take notice.
KILLING THEM SOFTLY centres on Jackie Cogan (Brad Pitt), a professional hitman who’s hired to investigate a heist that happened during a mob-protected poker game. There’s more to this though as two small-time thieves (Scoot McNairy and Ben Mendelsohn), have ripped off gangster Markie Trattman (Ray Liotta) and we all know he’s a man you wouldn’t mess with. KILLING THEM SOFTLY opens in the UK on 21st September and we’re hopeful for a full trailer soon.
