Filming for THOR: THE DARK WORLD is scheduled to start in the UK soon, and the production company behind the sequel has sent out a letter to the residents of Bourne Wood, informing them of a huge battle scene that will be filmed there. However, Asgard Productions maintain that the letter is in regards to “another film” titled THURSDAY MOURNING, which also happens to be “a comic-book adaptation set in another realm”. Hmm. With a name like Asgard Productions, the production office aren’t exactly hiding their true intentions very well. Part of the letter reads:
We will be establishing a fictional village set in another realm, with yurts and village like dressing in the bowl. The sequence involves a battle between two kingdoms, ending in our comic book hero arriving to save the day. The sequence will involve a substantial amount of stunts and controlled special effects all within the hours 0700 – 1900hrs. The sequence will involve approximately 300 extras.
Bourne Wood is a popular filming location in England and can be seen in GLADIATOR, BAND OF BROTHERS, CHILDREN OF MEN, and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER.
THOR: THE DARK WORLD is due in cinemas on 8th November 2013.
