‘Indy V’ Not Looking Likely

In what I would consider good news, legendary producer Frank Marshall has cast some doubt over an INDIANA JONES V. Speaking to Collider, Marshall said:

I say, for me, [KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL is] the last hurrah.  I know that yes, we talk about it, but there’s no idea, there’s no MacGuffin.

INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL was, surprisingly, met with mostly positive reviews. But fans of the series generally consider it to be the least impressive. Since the release of that film the man responsible for the stories, George Lucas, has announced he is to step away from blockbusters and focus on experimental films. Lucas has announced he is leaving his own studio Lucasfilm, and is leaving Marshall’s wife, Kathleen Kennedy, in charge.

I think the more George Lucas products we are spared from the better at this point in time. I felt no passion or excitement in KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL, and with Steven Spielberg focussing on THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN sequels, I say that’s enough adventure for now.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
