Always a compelling actor to watch, Aaron Eckhart’s latest effort, THE EXPATRIATE, sees him play a retired CIA agent marked for execution when he uncovers a conspiracy deep within the corridors of government power. His desperation to both escape his former employers, as well as exposing the truth, means he must also protect his estranged daughter, who he brings along for the risky ride.
No word on a UK or US release date but the film opens in Belgium, where most of the footage was shot, on 26th September. THE EXPATRIATE is directed by NORTH FACE’s Philipp Stolzl and co-stars Olga Kurylenko, Kate Linder, Neil Napier and Liana Liberato. Check out the trailer and Taiwan poster below. Could be a fun TAKEN-style flick.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
