‘Chicken With Plums’ Trailer

CHICKEN WITH PLUMS is the latest film from Vincent Paonnaud and Marjane Satrapi, the directors behind the animated PERSEPOLIS (2007). Here’s the latest trailer for their new one, a film about a violinist who loses his will to live after the destruction of his instrument. The trailer is stunning and has the fairytale qualities present in the films of Jean-Pierre Jeunet. This certainly seems like the mix of fantasy and humour that only the French are capable of.

I was never much a fan of PERSEPOLIS. It never engaged me emotionally, nor had any characters I could care for. This looks to be doing a lot more for me, and that’s just in the two minutes on show in this trailer.

No UK release date has been announced as of yet. CHICKEN WITH PLUMS stars Mathieu Amalric, Edouard Baer, Maria de Medeiros, Golshifteh Farahani, Eric Caravaca and Jamel Debbouze.
