Spielberg Wants Hemsworth For Upcoming ‘Robopocalypse’

It may be 21 months away, but for a project this huge you really have to start early. It is being rumoured that Spielberg wants Chris Hemsworth for the lead in his adaptation of the book ROBOPOCALYPSE. The book was written by Daniel H. Wilson, a man with a PhD in robotics, so you know he knows his robotic-onions. Script duties have fallen to Drew Goddard, the man responsible for THE CABIN IN THE WOODS and CLOVERFIELD.

If you couldn’t guess from the title, the film follows humanities battle against a robot uprising. Nothing too original there, but I’m intrigued enough to give the book a shot at some point. That way I can moan about the changes made to the film, and everyone loves a good whinge.

ROBOPOCALYPSE is set for release 25th April 2014.
