A few months ago, THN confirmed that THOR director and British thesp Kenneth Branagh would helm a reboot of Tom Clancy’s C.I.A operative Jack Ryan. Previously played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford (twice) and Ben Affleck, STAR TREK actor Chris Pine will play him this time, in a film titled… erm, JACK RYAN (going the JACK REACHER and ALEX CROSS route).
Now we can confirm that Branagh will not only be calling the shots, but he’ll be firing some too, as it’s expected he’ll portray the main villain Viktor Stazov, who’s plotting to bring the American economy to it’s knees. A bit too late if you ask me as it appears to be already in the shitter.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
