I’d rather be confused than bored, and by Jove has the trailer for BRANDED got me confused. Also known going by the (in my opinion) infinitely better title of THE MAD COW, the film is set in the future, when huge corporations have brainwashed the general public. Do I smell a bit of satire? Past that I can’t tell you much else, as the film seems to revolve around the uncovering of a conspiracy, and if we knew what that was it wouldn’t make for a very exciting film. Instead we get some bizarre and unique visuals, which look like a balloon version of TRANSFORMERS. The trailer and poster are littered with QR Codes, which no doubt give some clues to what is going on. This is a film that has immediately conquered my ‘To Watch’ list, and I hope I don’t hear much else about it until I’ve seen the thing. You can view the previous trailer here.
BRANDED is set for release 7th September in the US and Russia, with a UK release date yet to be announced. It stars Ed Stoppard, Leelee Sobieski, Max Von Sydow and Jeffrey Tambor

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
