We reported last week that Wes Anderson was thumbing through his phonebook and assembling a cast for his next project. Johnny Depp was rumoured to be the new face in Anderson’s usual cadre of actors (with the likes of Bill Murray and the brothers Wilson), and it’s been confirmed that Depp has indeed been cast in the new film. Not only that, we also have confirmation that the film will be titled THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, and will be both written and directed by Anderson as per usual.
Johnny Depp is currently working on Disney’s adaptation of THE LONE RANGER, a teaser for which was recently released receiving a mixed reception from audiences. With what unfortunately looks like another film to add to Depp’s list of recent stinkers, we can only hope Wes Anderson will save him with his whimsical quirkiness in the near future.
