Well, the rumour mill has been spinning for months and finally we have confirmation that the secret Marvel movie scheduled for 1st August 2014 will be GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. Marvel announced the news at Comic-Con, and also gave us full titles for the CAPTAIN AMERICA and THOR sequels. We will henceforth refer to those as CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and THOR: THE DARK WORLD.
Some other bits of news from the Comic-Con panel included:
- Ant-Man test footage was screened.
- The characters set for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY will be StarLord, Dax The Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot.
- Zachary Levi is officially cast as Fandrel in THOR: THE DARK WORLD

Actually AntMan does kind of make sense assuming they use the original Hank Pym version as the method used to shrink down can also be used to grow people and he goes on to be one of the leading members of the Avengers not to mention the man that builds Ultron… so if you want to have one of the biggest bads that the Avengers face in a film you need to have Ant Man first to set it up.

Ant Man is the biggest mistake ive seen from an otherwise very good strategy so far, i understand what theyre tryna do with the build build build release technique… but unlike Thor Iron Man &Cap.. “ant man” has absolutely NO tracking or following in the public &among hardcore comicbook readers.. he’s sort of the Marvel version of Aquaman.. G.I.ANT Man however when coupled with his wife Wasp in the setting of being SHIELDS premier R&D scientific creative team (Ultimates) is fine.. but they should be introduced as side dishes ala Widow in IM2 &then worked into a major assemble.. NOT given theyre own titles.. the rule is.. if u havent held a book… u DONT get a movie… of your own… without ANY introduction???
Meanwhile Black Panther who is the best placed to be introduced independently &ties in to the whole MCU very well (Caps shield etc) still has no greenlight…for rather obvious reasons

Antman and Giant Man are the exact same character, so I fail to see you’re problem with that, and like was said Antman was in fact a founding member of The Avengers and creator of Ultron so they need him even to do that villian properly.

ok people are bitching about ant man. but do you all realize with him comes the wasp. and without ant man Avengers didnt have half their technology. no your comics guys. oh so sad they didnt want to do a movie about black panther and how he would be protecting his jungle. who cares seriously because he was never apart of the Avengers full time and their main focus right now is three things. Spiderman Xmen and Avengers. and if they could make more money for each of those franchises they would.

Nobody wants to see an insect-sized hero who rides around on a flying ant. A hero who can grow to giant-sized,now thats a different story. Hank Pym is the one who created Ultron,and seeing Ultron up on the big screen would be bad ass! Not to mention Baron Zemo and the Masters of Evil.

Hate on Ant-Man all you want, but Edgar Wright has already said it will be a serious, spy-based movie. Frankly, I can’t think of any spy that wouldn’t kill for the ability to shrink in size to better infiltrate an enemy base. Furthermore, Hank Pym is an original Avenger who created one of Marvel’s greatest adversaries, Ultron. No Pym. No Ultron.

guys you dont need pym for some else to invent ultron. its all make believe to begin with, it could just as easily be hank mccoy, who has already been introduced, not saying that it would be cool, but nothig is set in stone

Wasp will be in Iron Man 3 so you know Ant Man will be coming soon. Just like the ones before, they will all connect leading to Avengers 2. Stan Lee even said he’s excited but can believe they’re actually making an ant man movie. Given their track record I’m gonna remain open minded. Rumor is that black panther may get the hawkeye black widow treatment. He may pop up in someone else’s movie.
