The reboot of 2000AD comic-book anti-hero Judge Dredd has just premiered at Comic-Con 2012, with early reviews suggesting it’s brutal and bloody brilliant. It has come as a bit of a surprise to many considering the production had (rumoured) in-house problems, but excitingly there’s word that the 3D is quite impressive as well!
We have to wait until the 7th September in the UK to see Karl Urban as the ruthless deliverer of justice on the streets of Mega City One. However, you can trust THN to bring you the odd titbit and today we have red-band clip from DREDD 3D. It is a rather ‘bloody’ graphic (in both senses of the word) but showcases the brilliance we hope is to come!
The film co-stars Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey, Domhnall Gleeson and Jason Cope and has been scripted by acclaimed 28 DAYS LATER, SUNSHINE and NEVER LET ME GO scribe Alex Garland.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
