Black Mirror Season 2 Announced

Arguably one of the most interesting (and most disturbing) new shows to come out of last year, BLACK MIRROR (the Channel 4 anthology drama, created by acclaimed journalist Charlie Brooker) looks set to return to our TV screens next year for a second series.

The show, which looks at how technology could possibly shape or even destroy our society, has been commissioned for a further run of three episodes, following the same template as the first series, which received both high critical praise and solid ratings, as well as 322 separate complaints to Ofcom in 2011 for the controversial first episode which depicted the British Prime Minister having sex with a Pig. Yes, we’re not making this up!

Brooker, who announced the show’s return on Twitter, said: ‘Half of the things in the first run of Black Mirror seem to be on the verge of coming true.  If the stories from the second run start coming true then we’re REALLY in trouble.’

Filming on the new series begins in August.

From an early age, Matt Dennis dreamt of one day becoming a Power Ranger. Having achieved that dream back in the noughties, he’s now turned his hand to journalism and broadcasting. Matt can often be found in front of a TV screen, watching his current favourite shows such as DOCTOR WHO, GAME OF THRONES, SHERLOCK, DAREDEVIL, and THE WALKING DEAD, though he’s partial to a bit of vintage TV from yesteryear. Matt also co-presents the Geek Cubed podcast, which you can download from iTunes. It’s quite nice.
