It seems like an absolute age ago that I was reading news of WORLD WAR Z, starring Brad Pitt, filming in Scotland, with everything on schedule. However, since then there have been enough spanners in the works to make a mechanic blush. In the latest twist it appears writer Damon Lindelof – himself coming on-board to rework the script – has asked Drew Goddard (THE CABIN IN THE WOODS) to come up with a new ending… which Paramount apparently aren’t keen on. Now considering the work Marc Forster and his crew have put into the adaptation of Max Brook’s novel, this is a crushing blow, with rumours circulating Christopher McQuarrie (THE USUAL SUSPECTS writer) is going to be drafted in as well. Wow, the phrase too many cooks comes to mind.
WORLD WAR Z is still currently scheduled for a 21st July 2013 release but we’ll keep you posted.

Sam is a bloody lovely lad born and raised in Bristol (he’s still there and can’t escape). Favourite films include THE LOST BOYS, DRIVE, FIGHT CLUB and COMMANDO, well pretty much any 1980s Arnie film you can throw his way…even RED SONJA. Sam once cancelled a Total Film subscription after they slagged off Teen Wolf. He resubscribed 2 days later.
