Last Thursday we gave you a glimpse at the poster for Sundance opener HELLO I MUST BE GOING – and as tradition stands, we can now bring you the first official trailer.
Melanie Lynskey stars as Amy, a down-on-her-luck divorcee who has to move back in with her parents. As she absorbs post-divorce life, Amy falls for Jeremy (Christopher Abbott) – a 19 year-old actor (who is also the son of Amy’s parents’ best friends). As the two of them sneak kisses in cupboards and avoid awkward questioning, Amy realises that her life hasn’t turned out exactly the way she expected…
While the ‘coming of age’ narrative has been played out near enough a million times, Lynskey seems to be on top comedy form. However, amongst the laughs she also looks quite capable of carrying something that – at times – could be considered quite a sober topic.
HELLO I MUST BE GOING, directed by Todd Louiso and co-starring Blythe Danner and John Rubinstein, is due for a US release from 7th September. It is currently awaiting a UK release date.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
