Comedy Actor Jim Piddock To Adapt 50 Shades Of Grey

Comedy actor and writer Jim Piddock will be adapting the EL James phenomenon FIFTY SHADES OF GREY.

Piddock is an… unexpected choice. He is perhaps best known for appearing in the films of Christopher Guest, such as BEST IN SHOW (2000), A MIGHTY WIND (2003) and FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION (2006) but also has a couple of screenplays under his belt, namely TOOTH FAIRY (2010) with Dwayne Johnson and THE MAN (2005) with regular co-star Eugene Levy and Samuel L. Jackson.

He is not the first person who springs to mind when considering the erotic romp and its transfer to multiplexes, but hey. He’s a funny guy, he could bring some much needed levity to something that takes itself a little too seriously.

We recently reported that the producers of THE SOCIAL NETWORK, Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti, will be producing for Universal. So the team is coming together. Next up, casting. And I’m calling it now, Colin Farrell and Anna Kendricks. A shot in the dark, but the kudos if I’m right… Oh the kudos…

Fifty Shades of Grey and its sequels are in stores and on tablets now.

He graduated with First Class Honours in Media Arts/Film & TV, a fact he will remain smug about long after everyone has stopped caring. He enjoys movies, theatre, live comedy and writing with the JR member and hetero life partner Ryan. Some of their sketches can be seen on YouTube and YOU can take their total hits to way over 17!
