Supernatural-thriller THE POSSESSION caused outrage amongst many with its first, graphic poster of a demonic hand violently escaping from a child’s mouth. This latest poster for the Ole Bornadal-directed fright-flick, maybe isn’t as disturbing, but still oozes creepiness.
THE POSSESSION is based on a true story (aren’t they all), and stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a father who watches his young daughter become little more than a possessed puppet when she opens a mysterious box bought at a neighbourhood yard sale (that’s a jumble sale for those here in the UK).
Kyra Sedewick, Madison Davenport and Natasha Calis co-star in this spookfest slated for 31st August. If you’ve seen the trailer, you’ll already know it’s better than this year’s THE DEVIL INSIDE. How much better? – We’ll find out next month. The added bonus is that Sam Raimi produces!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
