Hot on the heels of yesterday’s news that Michael Fassbender will produce and star in a movie version of the video-game ASSASSINS CREED, we have news of yet another game on the way to the big-screen, as the film rights to DEUS EX have been acquired by CBS Films. First released in 2000, the game was soon followed by ‘Deux Ex: Invisible War’ in 2003. The plot of last year’s ‘Deus Ex: Human Revolution’ – the acclaimed third in the series – is expected to form the basis for this new feature film, which makes sense considering it’s a prequel to the original game.
I wrote yesterday about my clueless knowledge surrounding video games and the latest machines/consoles, so we would love to hear what you think of this latest news. Could we have our first decent video-game adaptation on the way? Will it live up to the game itself? Come on gamers, give us your thoughts to both this and the impressive news of ASSASSIN’S CREED.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
