British film can be infuriating; for every PAYBACK SEASON there is a LOCK STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS and thankfully COMES A BRIGHT DAY, Simon Aboud’s directorial bow, seems to be falling in the latter category – i.e. not rubbish. Rising stars Craig Roberts (SUBMARINE) and Imogen Poots (28 WEEKS LATER) take the leads and it’s described as follows:
An offbeat, coming-of-age love story set during the armed robbery of London’s most exclusive jewellers. Sometimes funny, often dark, always captivating and never what you expect.
In fairness, they hit the nail on the head as this trailer backs that up a treat, so take a look and let us know your thoughts:
COMES A BRIGHT DAY is released 13th July and also stars Timothy Spall and Joseph Altin.

Sam is a bloody lovely lad born and raised in Bristol (he’s still there and can’t escape). Favourite films include THE LOST BOYS, DRIVE, FIGHT CLUB and COMMANDO, well pretty much any 1980s Arnie film you can throw his way…even RED SONJA. Sam once cancelled a Total Film subscription after they slagged off Teen Wolf. He resubscribed 2 days later.
