Viral Website For Total Recall Wants To Make Your Dreams A Reality…

Remakes, reboots, re-imaginings or whatever they’re calling them these days, can be a controversial topic with many movie-goers. Sometimes they’re a blessing, bringing something fresh and inspiring to a story we often hold dear. A cash-in can be a bit of a slap in the face to fans of many a beloved title.

With TOTAL RECALL, director Len Wiseman has promised us his remake will not just be a rehash of arguably Arnold Schwarzenegger’s finest film with the Philip K. Dick short story, We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, serving as his inspiration. We think, going right back to the source material is always a good place to start, so we’re definitely intrigued.

In promotion for theforthcoming re-imagining of Paul Verhoeven’s sci-fi epic, Columbia Pictures have developed a rather clever new marketing ploy. It allows you sync your Facebook account, which then uses the information gathered, to create a ‘what if’ scenario lifestyle, much like Colin Farrell’s Doug Quaid. It’s really a rather fun tool, with a total of nine options including a secret agent, rock star, celebrity and millionaire plus, best of all, there’s no limit to how many you choose to try. You can all attempt to live your own alternative life by visiting Welcometorekall.com. Go on, give it a try…You know you want to and add it to our Facebook page as well, we’d love to see you there! Could this be the future of viral marketing? We think so!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
