If you thought superhero season was only the beginning with April’s release of AVENGERS ASSEMBLE, you’d be damn right. This week alone we’ve had the friendly neighbourhood web-slinger rebooted to decent effect in Marc Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (mainly due to Andrew Garfield). However, with Christopher Nolan in charge, there is only one film this summer that most of us have been aching to see – THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.
Warner Bros. appears to have purposefully bombarded us with content for their Batman conclusion this week. Their campaign seemed to have picked up steadily the week Spidey makes an appearance – just to make sure we don’t forget about Nolan’s forthcoming epic. No more spectacularly than this superb IMAX and Bane viral posters. Just imagine these on your wall bat fans!
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES hits cinemas 20th July and sees the Christian Bale reprise his role of Bruce Wayne/Batman for the third and final time alongside Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Michael Caine and Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
