After 23 long years of waiting for the third installment of GHOSTBUSTERS… we’re still waiting. But it is getting there. Star of the first two films and all round comedy hero, Dan Aykroyd, has said that after a lot of faffing about with the screenplay, a new writing team has come aboard the good ship GHOSTBUSTERS 3.
‘We’ve got a new writing staff working on it now. It’s got to be perfect. That’s the whole thing. There’s no point in doing it unless it’s perfect. So that’s what we’re up to now.’
And perfect it must be. For not only does appreciation of the fans hang in the balance, but so too does the involvement of Bill Murray. And I’ll be damned if I’m going to watch a GHOSTBUSTERS movie without Bill Murray! This news came after the first crack at the script, written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, did not meet with his approval. And we all know Murray’s word is god. (Am I gushing?)
But hopefully after these new mystery writers sort it out, we should be slimed up and ready to go. We’ll keep you posted.
