‘Devil’s Knot’ Ties Up Stephen Moyer

TRUE BLOOD star Stephen Moyer has joined the cast of Atom Egoyan’s forthcoming feature DEVIL’S KNOT. The film will depict the horrifying true-life tale of three young boys, murdered in a satanic ritual in the Robin Hood Hills in Memphis during 1993. The case and subsequent controversial trial of teenage boys – Damien Echols, Jesse Miskelly and Jason Baldwin – was brought to worldwide attention by Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky’s unforgettable PARADISE LOST documentaries.

The film will be based on Mara Leveritt’s novel ‘Devil’s Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three’. Over the last few weeks, THN has brought you news of the confirmed main cast that includes Oscar-winners, Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth. If you’ve missed the rest of the cast involved, you can read both articles here, and here.

British actor Moyer, has been a mainstay on HBO’s hit vampire series TRUE BLOOD since it first aired in 2008. He has also appeared as a supporting player in PRIEST but has yet to sink his teeth into a significant film role outside of the cult bloodsucker show. Moyer also has the found-footage thriller EVIDENCE, due later this year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

I remember following the frightening story of the West Memphis 3.
Stephen Moyer is a fantastic actor. Glad he is in the cast.
I have been following Mr. Moyers work since I became acquainted with him as Bill Compton on HBOs True Blood. His background and filmography is impressive. I look forward to “The Devils Knot” as well as all his forthcoming work.
