Can you feel it? As the momentum gets under way, we are now less than a month from the year’s biggest film. Here’s yet another TV spot for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, Christopher Nolan’s final film in his Bat-trilogy. The latest TV spot makes a big deal over Batman and Catwoman teaming up. I think it’s becoming obvious that Selina Kyle, played by Anne Hathaway, is going to start on the side of Bane (Tom Hardy) before doing a U-turn when she realises how messed up the situation is becoming.
I think it makes a lot more sense in Nolan’s world to use Catwoman as a sidekick, rather than Robin. This TV spot adds a bone crunching snap to Catwoman’s prison based cartwheel, something that still confuses many due to it apparently being a male prison. It also has that staple of Batman trailers, the infamous vehicle based joke. In fact, we get a new one as Catwoman takes on the BatPod.
I don’t need to sell anyone on this. Just watch it and enjoy it.
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is released 20th July 2012. It stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Morgan Freeman, and Marion Cotillard.
