It’s promising when a project finds enough talent to fill every major role with a major talent. It shows that the project must have caught many of the actors’ attention in some aspect, suggesting it could be an interesting and fascinating piece of work. Set in the world of billionaire hedge funds, where sex scandals and corporate corruption can come back to haunt you in more ways than one, ARBITRAGE appears as if it could be a real nail-biter from the look of this first trailer.
Led by the always watchable Richard Gere, ARBITRAGE is directed by first-time writer/director Nicholas Jarecki and co-stars Susan Sarandon, Tim Roth, Monica Raymund, Nate Parker, Josh Pais and actress-on-the-rise Brit Marling. Even more surprising is that there is rumoured to be a role for legendary director Willam Friedkin somewhere in the film, which still awaiting a release date in the UK but hits the US on the 14th September.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
