Brand New Full Length Trailer For Burton’s ‘Frankenweenie’

Earlier on in June we gave you the news that Tim Burton’s upcoming animated adventure, FRANKENWEENIE, would be going on a world-wide tour. Well…elements of the art work involved would be. Then, just last week we brought you an influx of new character banners for the film, giving us what could be considered a sneaky preview of what was to come, as now we have the full length trailer! A full 2 minutes 32 seconds of delightfully charming eccentricity, I don’t think you could mistake it to be anything other than a Burton production.

Featuring the voices of Charlie Tahan, Catherine O’Hara, Winona Ryder, Atticus Shaffer, Martin Short, Martin Landau, Robert Capron, James Hiroyuki Liao, Conchata Ferrell and Tom Kenny (yes, the man who voices SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS) I think this is going to be brilliant and probably one of Burton’s best films to date. Tahan voices Victor, whose treasured four-legged friend Sparky dies, leaving Victor with a broken heart. After being shown a science experiment (which could be considered quite gruesome for such a young boy) Victor decides to take life into his own hands. However, his secret is not safe, after his best friend Edgar (voiced by Shaffer) spreads the news that Sparky has risen from the dead. All hell breaks loose over town – including a giant dinosaur. Will Victor be able to control the mayhem he has created?

Burton’s last foray into stop-motion was 2005’s CORPSE BRIDE, which I am already a huge fan of. Personally, I prefer Burton’s older work like EDWARD SCISSORHANDS and BEETLEJUICE, rather than his more recent work, such as ALICE IN WONDERLAND. I think the creepier Burton is the better and it looks as if FRANKENWEENIE won’t disappoint. Bring on autumn!

FRANKENWEENIE, directed by Tim Burton, is due for release from 17th October 2012 (just in time for Halloween!)

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
