The recently-announced action-thriller 2 GUNS appears to to be assembling a terrific ensemble. Confirmed leads Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg will play respective DEA agent and Navy S.E.A.L., who unbeknown to each other, are working undercover for the CIA. Support will come in the form of the always ace Bill Paxton and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL beauty Paula Patton.
As for the villain of the piece, that falls to Edward James Olmos – who featured in the last season of DEXTER – playing the inspiration for Colin Hanks’ religious nut Travis. He’ll portray the Mexican druglord who finds himself double-crossed by Washington and Wahlberg’s dynamic duo when they steal millions from his criminal empire.
2 GUNS will see Wahlberg re-team with his CONTRABAND director Baltasar Kormakur and is based on the cult comic by Steven Grant. The film is expected in cinemas late, next year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
