Horror Anthology V/H/S Releases Poster

The horror anthology V/H/S has now released a theatrical poster. The film focuses on a group of burglars sent to retrieve a VHS tape from a house. Once inside they find a collection of tapes, each telling an individual story. Each segment is directed by a different up-and-coming horror name, such as Ti West (THE INNKEEPERS, CABIN FEVER 2) and Adam Wingrad (A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE).

The film premiered at Sundance back in January and was quickly picked up by Magnolia Pictures for a seven-figure deal. They plan on giving V/H/S a limited theatrical run and a VOD release. There’s plenty of talent to get genre fans excited about this and there were reports when it screened at Sundance that an audience member passed out, with another member being treated for nausea 20 minutes later. However, I wouldn’t exactly trust reports such as these as film makers have been faking for this kind of publicity for decades.

I’m personally pretty excited about this release. I’ve loved the found footage sub-genre ever since THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT (1999) and horror anthologies are also right up my alley. You’re guaranteed to get at least one or two good stories out of it and when it comes to a DVD release you can skip straight to your favourites. The poster itself is well put together. It suggests more than one story going on, and has a 1970s feel to it. It clearly labels itself as a horror, but is also a bit playful. Take a look and let us know your thoughts:

V/H/S will be released in the US on 5th October, with no word yet on a UK release. It is directed by Adam Wingard, Glenn McQuaid, Radio Silence, David Bruckner, Joe Swanberg, and Ti WestIt stars Joe Swanberg, Adam Wingard, Sophia Takal, Kate Lyn Sheil, Calvin Reeder, and Lane Hughes.

His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
