These days, film marketing is all about the viral campaign, whether this involves specially-constructed websites, videos, posters, and in some cases, all of these and more. In fact, it’s fast becoming clear which films studios think are worth investing their energy into, such as Len Wiseman’s TOTAL RECALL remake.
The Colin Farrell-starring sci-fi thriller has its work cut out if it’s to match the 1990 Paul Verhoeven original – perhaps the best of Arnie’s triumphant run of 1980s action movies. But some serious thought has obviously gone into the viral campaign, and let’s hope the same can be said for the movie itself.
Not only have these brand new ‘Rekall’ posters surfaced online, but two websites have been launched. First up is WelcomeToRekall.com, set up to advertise the fictional company, and second is NoRekall.org, a site protesting Rekall’s work and outlining cases in which customers have been psychologically damaged. All interesting stuff – fingers crossed the film lives up to the hype.
Check out the brand new posters below!
TOTAL RECALL co-stars Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, and Bill Nighy. It arrives in cinemas 29th August.
