First Poster For Ayer’s ‘End Of Watch’ Starring Jake Gyllenhaal And Michael Pena

Not many screenwriters can match David Ayer for intensity. The man who gave us the deeply flawed but ultimately brilliant characters in the likes of TRAINING DAY and DARK BLUE has made law enforcement (or more specifically cop corruption), his signature.

Ayer started by directing Christian Bale in HARSH TIMES (2005), in which THE DARK KNIGHT star portrayed violent former Army Ranger Jim Davis, struggling with his lifestyle and personality as he attempts to join the LAPD. Ayer followed that with the lukewarm STREET KINGS, another tale of cop corruption. After his scripts had previously given the likes of Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Kurt Russell and Bale, some of their best work, perhaps the usually wooden Keanu Reeves wasn’t the best choice for the lead in that particular effort.

But now, we’re heading towards END OF WATCH, his latest thriller centred on the world of police officers and their intense working/personal relationships. The film sees Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena as a pair of long-term police partners and friends, recently we had the action-packed recent trailer and now THN brings you the brand new poster.

END OF WATCH co-stars Frank Grillo, Anna Kendrick, Natalie Martinez and America Ferrera and hits our screens later this year. Ayer is next due to helm the action-thriller TEN, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Craig is leading the charge as our north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
