“Jason Bourne was only the tip of the iceberg!” says Edward Norton’s villain ‘Byer’, at the opening of this full trailer for the Damon-less THE BOURNE LEGACY. It seems he’s setting us up for what’s to come, as Bourne screenwriter and MICHAEL CLAYTON director Tony Gilroy, grabs the reigns of the blockbusting action franchise.
Any reservations some might have had about THE AVENGERS and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL star Jeremy Renner, taking over lead as new character Aaron Cross, may rest easy…for now anyway. He looks pretty damn special as the fellow C.I.A operative in the shady world of government assassins and double-crossed espionage agents. It appears he has come far after his first lead as cannibalistic serial-killer Jeffrey Dahmer in 2002.
Much like the first three action-packed epics from Doug Liman and Paul Greengrass, Renner is surrounded by an incredible supporting cast that includes the returning Joan Allen, Albert Finney, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn alongside newcomers Rachel Weisz, Stacy Keach, Oscar Isaac and the aforementioned Ed Norton. THE BOURNE LEGACY opens on 13th August.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
