Trio Battle For A Role In The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Now, the title may be misleading – unfortunately, the three actors in question won’t actually be trying to kill each other for the part. However, news is surfacing that Armie Hammer, Garrett Hedlund and Taylor Kitsch are in the line-up for the role of Finnick Odair in THE HUNGER GAMES sequel THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE.

Hammer (THE SOCIAL NETWORK), Hedlund (ON THE ROAD) and Kitsch (X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE) would all fit the part of attractive-but-lethal Odair, a 20-something previous Games victor who is sent back into battle. CATCHING FIRE has an action-packed plot, full of surprises, twists and turns.

The news that the three have been suggested for the role comes after rumours that Robert Pattinson was to take it were quashed. I think that any of the three men would suit the part as they all have the ability to play the ‘cocky jock’ type, especially Hammer after seeing him play the Winklevoss twins in THE SOCIAL NETWORK.

Although in early pre-production, THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE has a predicted release date of 22nd November 2013.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
