The TV spot below is for Oliver Stone’s (NATURAL BORN KILLERS) upcoming star-studded film, SAVAGES, which stars Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, and Blake Lively. However, arguably more impressive is the supporting cast, which includes John Travolta, Salma Hayek, Benicio Del Toro, and our very own… wait for it… Gary Stretch (DEAD MAN’S SHOES).
The story follows a threesome of unlikely friends and pot dealers, Ben (Johnson) and Chon (Kitsch), and their shared girlfriend, O (Lively), as they battle a Mexican drug cartel who move in on their turf. A cunning DEA agent (Travolta) helps them in their campaign against the outfit, which is run by Elena (Hayek), and her ferocious enforcer, Lado (Del Toro).
SAVAGES is based on Don Winslow’s novel of the same name, and the screenplay was co-written by Winslow, Stone and Shane Salerno (SHAFT), so we can safely say Stone has an intimate knowledge of the source material; this could be something special for us weary consumers!
SAVAGES is due to be released in the UK 28th September.
