The viral video is fast becoming one of the niftiest tools in movie marketing. Not only does it generate excitement in a completely different way to the standard trailer, it has also become an extension of the film itself, offering handy exposition and prepping audiences beforehand.
The PROMETHEUS viral campaign has been a great example of this, giving an insight into Peter Weyland, David 8, and now Noomi Rapace’s Dr Elizabeth Shaw. As ever, this new clip – dubbed ‘Quiet Eye’ – raises as many questions as it answers (Yutani, anyone?), but certainly succeeds in amping up the anticipation for Ridley Scott’s return to the ALIEN franchise.
Check it out below!
PROMETHEUS co stars Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Patrick Wilson and Sean Harris. It arrives in UK cinemas 1st June.
