Chris Pine’s ‘Mantivities’ Gets The Green Light

If you haven’t had enough of the man-child genre just yet, read on! It looks as if Chris Pine’s co-written script for MANTIVITIES has been picked up by Waterstone Entertainment and will be ready for filming quite soon.

Pine – who co-wrote the script alongside his friends Drew Howerton, Will Greenberg, Ian Gotler, Tony Liebetrau and Robert Baker – will also star in the film, which focuses on a group of 30-something guys who have to help one of the gang grow up…and quickly! Commenting on the news the script’s been given the go-ahead, Pine said, ‘I couldn’t be happier to begin the adventure of making MANTIVITIES knowing how much fun we all had writing it. Somehow I get to laugh with my friends and call it work.’

Waterstone Entertainment bosses Jeff Kalligheri and Stephen Bowen (who approached Pine with the offer in the first place) will help co-produce the project alongside Pine. If you’ve been keeping count, you’ll notice he’s co-written the script and will co-produce AND act in the film. It looks like Pine is trying to spread his talented wings and try a little of everything. Could it be overkill? We’ll have to wait and see…

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
