Quirky Trailer And Featurette Released For ‘Safety Not Guaranteed’

If you’ve been following the reviews churning out from the Sundance Film Festival, you will already know how well SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED has been doing. So, we now present to you the quirky trailer and accompanying featurette that introduces us to the inspiration behind the rather strange story.

Inspired by the real-life advertisement which was placed in Backwoods Magazine, the film follows three lacklustre journalists who track down the man who printed the ad, apparently looking for a companion to go back in time with. Starring actor and producer Mark Duplass (JEFF WHO LIVES AT HOME, CYRUS) as Kenneth Calloway, he befriends undercover writers Darius Britt (Aubrey Plaza) and Arnau (Karan Soni) who claim they want to join him in his time-travel adventure. Darius and Arnau actually work for Jeff Schwensen (played by Jake M. Johnson, who you may recognize from the Zooey Deschanel sitcom NEW GIRL) who pushed for the story to be published, consequently sending them on an intriguing and eye-opening journey.

Directed by Colin Trevorrow and written by Derek Connolly, the film has been receiving brilliant reviews from the Festival. From the looks of this trailer and featurette, SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED has a solid cast behind it and will no doubt gain many fans when it is released in America. Indie film-fans love a good unconventional ‘journey’ story, so this will be right up their street!

SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED, directed by Colin Trevorrow, is set for a limited US release from 8th June, 2012.
