The suitably-named Marc Webb will be hoping his THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN can at least match the box-office numbers of Sam Raimi’s 2002 outing. Perhaps a tough ask considering AVENGERS ASSEMBLE is currently emptying fanboys’ wallets around the world. Also, it has been less than five years since Raimi (and an overpowering studio) killed the franchise with the dire SPIDER-MAN 3. However, THN are hoping superhero overload won’t spoil our favourite web-slinger’s reboot, including one that boasts a top cast.
These spectacular new international posters will almost certainly help, as Andrew Garfield looks to bring something fresh as the friendly neighbourhood wall-crawler. Taking over the role (previously played by Tobey Maguire) with a darker, more mysterious tone will kick-start the franchise, with a sequel already given the green light.
Garfield is joined by Emma Stone, Sally Field, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Martin Sheen, Irrfan Khan and Rhys Ifans as new super-villain The Lizard. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN swings into cinemas 3rd July!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
