Tim Burton isn’t finished yet this year, in October we also get to see stop-motion FRANKENWEENIE hit the big screen. DARK SHADOWS may be getting mixed reviews (read ours) but here, Burton returns to his roots for an idea that’s been festering for a bigger feature for 28 years, yes, since 1984 when a film short of FRANKENWEENIE was Burton’s first steps into the cinematic world.
Today we feature news stills but also some great behind-the-scenes production shots, including Burton directing and Rick Heinrichs on the set, the production designer who has also worked on SLEEPY HOLLOW, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER and THE BIG LEBOWSKI. I’d highly recommend checking out our previous coverage of FRANKENWEENIE that includes the trailer and also an awesome, animated poster. For the moment, scroll down for the images:
FRANKENWEENIE opens on October 12th and stars the voice talents of Winona Ryder, Christopher Lee, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short and Martin Landau.
