Jon Hamm Attaches ‘Million Dollar Arm’…To His Schedule

As Don Draper in AMC’s MAD MEN, Jon Hamm has solidified himself as a major TV star. Add his great performances in THE TOWN and BRIDESMAIDS and you’ve got a top player in Hollywood and this looks set to continue with pace. Hamm has signed up for Disney’s MILLION DOLLAR ARM based around the first two Indian players to play in Major League Baseball. Hamm will play agent J.B Bernstein who ran an India’s Got Talent type reality show looking for the next great pitcher and the first from India.

This is sure to be a run-of-the-mill sports movie, but with the success of MONEYBALL the makers could be tempted to delve deeper and into the mechanics of why Bernstein went to India in the first place – he was apparently fed-up with Baseball until he saw a game of Cricket and decided to cash-in, sorry capitalise, on the similarities between MLB and Cricket.

We love a bit of Baseball here at THN (well, I like it and no-one else does) so we’re looking forward to see how this one turns out; one things guaranteed though Jon Hamm will make it watchable even if it stinks worse than ED (Matt Le Blanc next to a Baseball playing Chimp), but what do you think any baseball fans out there eager to see this story on the big-screen?

Sam is a bloody lovely lad born and raised in Bristol (he’s still there and can’t escape). Favourite films include THE LOST BOYS, DRIVE, FIGHT CLUB and COMMANDO, well pretty much any 1980s Arnie film you can throw his way…even RED SONJA. Sam once cancelled a Total Film subscription after they slagged off Teen Wolf. He resubscribed 2 days later.
