After the critically-applauded GONE BABY GONE and THE TOWN, it turns out Ben Affleck isn’t just a big-faced rom-com git. Far from it. In fact, he’s now a respected director (and the bomb in PHANTOMS, yo), and is back behind the camera – and in front of it – for the upcoming ARGO, based on true events.
The film tells the story of an Iranian hostage situation, during which CIA agents pose as a film crew to save six Americans. Sounds like heavyweight drama, and Affleck has accrued a suitably talented ensemble cast, including John Goodman, Bryan Cranston, Alan Arkin, Kyle Chandler, Scoot McNairy, and Clea DuVall.
