You may have noticed there has been rather a few posters (eight!) and teasers for G.I. JOE: RETALIATION but tonight we put them all to rest with this rather less thrilling standard poster for the US release. It’s got Willis in a suit, with a gun! Adrianne Palicki in a tight top, with a big gun! Dwayne Johnson, with a gun, looking as hard as…nails and someone with a sword! Exciting times. We think they’ve forgotten Channing Tatum but as this isn’t out until August here in the UK, so we could get our own before it opens in UK cinemas.
G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF THE COBRA started all this back in 2009 but from the trailer, it does look like they’ve upped the explosions and actions budget tremendously. This time around, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their enemy ‘Cobra’ but also they’re forced to take on powers within their own government that could wipe out their existence. Check out the poster below and have a look at the trailer. It could be entertaining, big-screen popcorn entertainment and to be truthful, I don’t think we’d settle for anything less:
G.I. JOE: RETALIATION is directed by Jon M. Chu and stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson.
It’s released in UK cinemas on August 3rd.
