More familiar for his comic genius in SUPERBAD and 21 JUMP STREET, some may have forgotten that Jonah Hill is also an Academy Award-nominee after his performance opposite Brad Pitt in MONEYBALL. It is most probably for this reason that Martin Scorsese has decided to cast Hill as Leonardo DiCaprio’s best-bud Danny Porush, in the iconic directors next; THE WOLF OF WALL STREET.
Based on Jordan Belfort’s best-selling biography of the same name, THE WOLF OF WALL STREET will document the rise and fall of the reckless, corporate stockbroker. His greedy lifestyle, including partying, prostitutes, alcoholism and drug addiction, ultimately led to risky investments, money laundering and a 2-year stint in prison for his part in the notorious $200 million ‘pump and dump’ fraud scheme.
This will be fifth time DiCaprio and Scorsese have collaborated after the previous GANGS OF NEW YORK, THE AVIATOR, THE DEPARTED and SHUTTER ISLAND. THE SOPRANOS and BOARDWALK EMPIRE writer/producer Terence Winter has adapted Belfort’s novel.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
